Drinks...
Update: June, 2009
A pub is not truly traditional, unless it pulls a good jar of ale or cider. The Millbrook is a tiny pub but is nevertheless able to offer three ales on tap. Having spent 2008 getting to know the many breweries that we have in Devon and a few others just over the border we have recently settled down to two excellent beers from Red Rock Brewery in Bishopsteignton. We have an exceptional beer in Red Rock Ale at 4.2% and an IPA brewed for the Millbrook at 3.6%.
Red Rock Brewery has been up and running for under three years and was conceived, set up, owned and run by former Maths teacher John and his son Lewis. Their artisan approach to brewing and the importance that they place on quality has led to their beer being appreciated by an increasing number of people, not least of which being our crowd at The Millbrook. We are currently the only pub in the South Hams with Red Rock on tap.
Our third tap is mostly occupied by Beer from Teignworthy Brewery in Newton Abbot, a well known and equally popular Brewery in these parts. Anything from Reel Ale to Spring or High Tide, Old Moggie or Gun Dog will regularly feature on the pump.
We are blessed with local producers of the west countrys' "favourite tipple", cider, in Devon. Heron Valley is our most local but we also source from further afield with Thatchers and Old Rosie often available
Our wine list has an international flavour, with a superb selection of wines hand picked from around the world. Liam Steevenson owner of Red and White Wines in Churchstow and our supplier is still today one of the very youngest wine masters in the world. Friendly bar staff are trained to advise and aid you in your choice of wine to compliment both your main course and desert.
We are currently sourcing an exciting range of malt whiskies and ports to make that “nightcap” by the fire that bit more speial.
Along with soft drinks you expect to find in a pub, we attempt to go beyond the ordinary and offer a wide variety of natural and unusual juices
