We came to the Millbrook with very clear ideas about what the pub should represent on the food front. Not Gastro – but inspired country food, obviously locally sourced, mixing up good pub grub and simple restaurant food. Then along came JP with the inbuilt belief that rural French “Auberge” type food is what we should be doing. We thought we were! He has lifted our menu to a different level with his classical training and his family recipes combined with the best the South Hams can offer on the meat and fish front.
Our lunchtime and evening menus offer more formal choices, but in addition we can suggest a simpler and slightly lighter bar menu with things such as Bath Chaps as well as smmoked Haddock bean cassoulet. As for puddings! JP, Gareth and Georgia excel themselves! You may not think you want one, but once you see them going out to other tables we can promise you – you WILL change your mind.
